On the afternoon of March 5th, the opening ceremony of monthly volunteer service project was launched in Baijia Lack, Nanjing, which was pioneered by the Jiangsu Communist Youth League committee along with other provincial departments and groups like the Department of Culture, the Department of Civil Affairs, the Water Resources Department and the Volunteers Association. Nanjing Agricultural University’s service project of caring for the demented aged men had won the Top Ten Youth Volunteer Project of Jiangsu Province in 2017.
The College of Humanities and Social Development of NJAU embarked on the youth volunteer service project of memory jigsaw in the hope of happiness, leaving the life story book of the demented aged men behind. Within the reminiscence therapy of non-pharmaceutical intervention, volunteer would interviewed the interviewees face to face, and edited respectively a life story book for themselves. This project had won the third prize award in the 2nd Jiangsu Exhibition of Volunteer Service Projects.
After the ceremony, NJAU’s volunteers were interviewed by multiple medias including People's Daily, Yangtse Evening Post and Nanjing Daily.
